Therapist Marisa Peer, author of self-help guide Ultimate Confidence, says that women have always measured themselves against each other by their looks rather than achievements.

“It’s hard when everyone resents you for your looks,” says Brick. Men think “what’s the point, she’s out of my league” and don’t ask you out.

And women don’t want to hang out with someone more attractive than they are…I find that older women are the most hostile to beautiful women — perhaps because they feel their own bloom fading.

As cameras have gotten smaller and cheaper in the past few decades, we’ve seen an explosion in photos taken quickly and unstaged, that now inhabit every minute of our waking life. But there has always been, and still remains, the photographers that capture and record those unscripted moments, in all the chaos, or disquiet; some try and decode what everyday life is, others just throw themselves into the grime and the heat, and bring a little back in their photos.

Past a Midlife Crisis

A GRINDING sound, somewhere between a rattle and a rumble, erupted over the suburban New Jersey hill. The figures, clad in motorcycle leathers and helmets, started to appear, one, two, three, until there were almost 20, crouched on skateboards, like a squadron of roller-villains.

One by one, the skaters rounded a turn, dropping a gloved hand to the asphalt as they scraped their wheels in a slide, taking care that nobody crossed into oncoming traffic and found themselves splattered across the grill of a Buick.

At the bottom of the hill, the leader of the Bergen County Bombers, as this gang of skateboarders is known, wrestled the black motorcycle helmet from his head, revealing a mortgage broker with gray flecks in his beard and the crow’s feet that come from decades in the white-collar trenches.

It’s a total midlife crisis – said said the group’s leader, Tom Barnhart, 47, of Cresskill, N.J..

Forget the little red sports car: the new symbol for midlife crisis is the skateboard. Graying members of Generation X, and even their older brothers, are reclaiming their youth and rebellious streak by hopping back on a skate deck. Some are even showing off old tricks in the skate park.

Modern Man’s Elegance

The concept of elegance has changed and fashion rules are constantly updating with style innovation.

Men’s guardrobe must haves like suits or double breasted blazers that were once used for occasional vernissages or for work are nowadays worn for any occasion. Elegance has lost it’s formal feature becoming more casual and urban and it has become a sort of passepartout for everyday life.

You shouldn’t be afraid of looking too old style, suits have new lines that are totally in favor of versatility so that you can mix together chic elements from casualwear and sportswear.

The ultimate features regarding men’s style that redifine the concept of elegance are: tight jackets reduced in length , smaller or larger revers but above all low waist trousers with tapered legs.

The new temptation is to get rid of the old schemes and play with patterns an colours making daring combinations using dramatic details and playing with proportions. The point is to express our creativity through our personal taste. Future of style is adapting one’s liberty to elegance .

Dress Business Casual

So, when it’s casual Friday at the office, a nice way to put an outfit together is to wear a gingham pattern shirt with a navy blazer. A nice pocket square will always is the outfit together ,and it’s an easy to look at the top of your game and still being relaxed.

A nice pair of jeans will always do the trick. You don’t have to go with such a dark color on every occasion. A pair of chinos is also a great way to achieve a business causal outfit. In order to complete this look I’m wearing a pair of loafers from Berlutti.

When the weather gets a little colder and you want to achieve a business casual look, layering is a great way to combine outfits and to mix and match patterns.

During fall or winter, you can add a v-neck sweater or cashmere cardigan under your navy blazer. These are a few tips in order to create a business casual outfit.

The word “hipster” means different things to different people…

While it originated in the 1940’s Jazz era, it’s now generally associated with millennials who are into artisan foods, super-progressive viewpoints, and preferences for all-things alternative, including lifestyles and music. But even these core hipster values barely scrape the tip of the iceberg. As we explore the hipster style, perhaps we can gain greater insight on these modern day rebels who have such a lack of concern for what you, or anyone else thinks.

But who actually cares what the critics think? Let’s face it, if there wasn’t a little bit of controversy surrounding the “assassins of cool”, then they simply wouldn’t be as cool as they are. Hipsters are modern day rebels because they go against the grain. Non-hipsters want to be hipsters simply because of the attractive qualities of a free spirited individual who refuses to conform, follow tradition, or succumb to the customs of every generation before.

Whether you see a hipster rockin’ tight pants and round-framed glasses, or a grunge jacket from the 90s, there’s always going to be someone telling them to fall in line.

Well guess what people, falling in line just isn’t what we do. We’re here to shake things up, live a sweet life, and do epic shit.
